Diversity Scorecard
Little
wonder, given the push from clients in the last few years
for their outside counsel to be more diverse, that the Minority
Law Journal’s annual Diversity
Scorecard garners a lot of attention in the law firm
community. The Scorecard is a ranking of firms, based on
the percentage of minority lawyers among their U.S. lawyers.
This year’s Diversity
Scorecard is now available in searchable spreadsheet
format through ALM
Research Online.
This
product is available free to subscribers, and for a fee
to non-subscribers. Premium subscribers also have access
to the historical data, which includes the years 1984, 1985,
1990, 1992, 1996, 1998, and 2001 through 2006.
It
is important to note that the methodology for determining
rankings was changed in 2004. Starting that year, the percentage
of a firm’s lawyers who are minorities was based on
U.S. lawyers only. Prior to 2004, the percentage was based
on the total number of lawyers firmwide.
